2022 HOMELESS COUNT SEEKING VOLUNTEERS

Now delayed until February, the annual census of homeless people, known as the Point-in-Time Count, will take place in communities throughout the United States. Reporter Ernest Figueroa tells us what it’s all about and how you can help…

The 2022 Point-in-Time Count takes place on February 24, 2022. The results will be used in a variety of ways, including to help determine where county funds and other resources will be allocated. Locally, the count is conducted by volunteers in every community in Morongo Basin. Working in pairs or small groups, volunteers will visit locations where homeless people live and spend time in order to count individuals, conduct brief surveys and distribute convenience items and other essentials.
