The Kiwanis Lego Design Challenge was held at Luckie Park this last Sunday as part of our Pioneer Days festivities. This year, there were 12 entries in three age categories where entrants demonstrated their creative talents using Lego blocks as their artistic medium. The three local judges for this year’s Challenge were Bill and Kim Ortamond and LeeAnn Clarke. The winners included Phoebe McGrath (5 to 7 year Age Group); Giovanni Baldo (6 to 11 year Age Group); and Jaden Thomas (12 to 17 year Age Group). Prizes for the winners, in the form of $50 gift certificates, were provided by Burrtec Waste Industries, Inc. All the participants enjoyed the opportunity to display their talents and look forward to next year’s Lego Design Challenge.
