Another Marine unit returned to Twentynine Palms yesterday after a 7-month deployment to Afghanistan. About 200 Marines with Third Combat Engineer Battalion returned to the Combat Center yesterday; a smaller advance party returned to Twentynine Palms about two weeks ago. This was the unit’s last deployment to Afghanistan; after multiple deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Third CEB is scheduled to be deactivated next year.
