Two Twentynine Palms men were injured Sunday in a rollover crash on Interstate 40. According to the California Highway Patrol, James McCance III, 28, was driving a 1993 Honda Accord in the number 1 lane westbound on the freeway about 4 p.m. After he passed the exit to Water Road, McCance made an unsafe turning movement and lost control of his car. The Honda went off the north side of the freeway into the open desert and rolled over several times. McCance and his passenger, Tyler Lucero, 22, sustained major injuries. They were taken to hospitals in Las Vegas. The CHP says both men were wearing their seatbelts and neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be a factor in the crash.
