2 TWENTYNINE PALMS MEN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT AFTER TRYING TO TOW CAR THAT WAS NOT THEIRS

Two Twentynine Palms men were arrested Tuesday (March 15) after attempting to tow a vehicle in a strange string of events. On March 15, the victim of the incident called deputies just after 9 p.m. to report that she was attacked by the previous owner of her 2000 Ford Expedition in the 4700 block of Mesquite Springs Road. According to Sheriff’s logs, the victim claimed that the suspects had pushed her and smashed the car windows before fleeing. Arriving deputies identified the suspects as Steven Allshouse, 38, and Kenneth Wallen, 40. Through investigation, the deputies determined that Allshouse and Wallen had arrived at the location to tow the vehicle away when they were confronted by the victim. Allshouse allegedly grabbed a knife while Wallen armed himself with a crowbar and reportedly approached the victim. Deputies arrested Steven Allshouse and Kenneth Wallen for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon and booked them into the West Valley Detention Center. Allshouse’s bail was set at $50,000 and Wallen is being held without bail for a no-bail warrant.
