Two men arrested on multiple charges after a traffic stop

Two men are in jail following a traffic stop on Monday (April 12). Around 3:30 p.m., Sheriff deputies conducted a traffic stop near Grand Avenue and Antelope Trail in Yucca Valley where they identified Robert Thomas, 41, of Landers as the driver of the car.

According to deputies, Thomas was driving on a suspended license and had several misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. The passenger of the vehicle, Jason Neal, 40, of Joshua Tree, also had a felony no-bail warrant out for his arrest. After a field sobriety test, deputies determined that the driver, Thomas, was under the influence of drugs. Thomas was detained and found to be in possession of a billy club weapon.

Both were arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center where Robert Thomas is being held in lieu of $250,000 bail and Jason Neal is being held without bail.
