The Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support program, or PBIS, is an advanced school-wide discipline program that uses proactive strategies for teaching and positively reinforcing appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments. Yucca Valley Elementary and Twentynine Palms High Schools were among 164 county schools selected to receive the PBIS Community Cares Award for their hard work and dedication to promote positive school culture and climate during the COVID-19 school closure.
