Two men’s basketball players at Copper Mountain College have signed letters of intent with full scholarships to play for four-year universities. Sophomore Ronald Bell signed with Angelo State University in Texas. Bell is originally from Atlanta, George, and is the first member of his family to go to college. He played his freshman year with Tallahassee Community College in Florida and then transferred last year to play with CMC under coach Devin Aye. Managing editor Tami Roleff has the story about another player who transferred to Copper Mountain College to play basketball…
Copper Mountain College men’s basketball coach Devin Aye recruited Murshid Randle out of high school to play basketball at Lassen Community College in Fresno, where Aye was coaching at the time. Randel was one of the highest-ranked guards in California coming out of high school. Aye left Lassen College after Randel’s freshman year, and unfortunately, Randel’s grades kept him from playing for the next two years. Aye then came to CMC and he recruited Randel to transfer to CMC. But in order to play, Randel needed to get an A in 18 credits; he surpassed it by getting an A in 19 credits. Randel, the Fighting Cacti’s top scorer, is graduating from CMC this spring and he has accepted a full scholarship with Salem State University, a NCAA Division II school.
