The largest public works project in the history of the Morongo Basin, the Yucca Valley sewer project, is moving along nicely. Managing editor Tami Roleff says the first stages have been completed…
The first two stages of construction for the Hi-Desert Water District’s sewer project in Phase I have been completed. Streets in the Paradise Valley neighborhood were closed intermittently for the last two months while pavement was removed, sewer pipes installed, and the streets were repaved. The completed area is bordered by the streets Marvin, Avalon, and Barron. Crews are currently working in the areas near the Walmart and Walgreens shopping centers, and construction in these areas should be completed by June 2. Private property connections will follow construction once the wastewater treatment and reclamation facility is completed in February of 2019.
