The first baby born in the Morongo Basin in 2021 was born at 5:53 p.m. January 1 at Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree. Savayah King weighed 7 pounds 10 ounces and is 19 inches long. She is the sixth child of Shacora and Timothy King of Twentynine Palms.
