Sergeant Major Ronald Green has been selected as the 18th sergeant major of the Marine Corps. Green, now the sergeant major of I Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton, will assume the post February 20, according to a Marine Corps announcement.
The decision was made by Marine Corps Commandant General Joseph Dunford from a field of five finalists. A 31-year Marine, Green is an artilleryman by training. He has served as a drill instructor at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, and completed inspector-instructor duty with a Louisiana Reserve unit. He was selected to the rank of sergeant major in December 2004.
