A 17-year-old girl was arrested Wednesday, accused of punching a school staff member. Deputies were called to the Twentynine Palms High School about 10:40 a.m. for a disturbance. Staff members said the girl was confrontational with another student in the main office, and when they attempted to separate the two students, the girl assaulted the staff member, causing a minor injury. The girl was arrested for investigation of battery on a school employee, and released to her family.
