The 14th annual Parade of Homes Tour just around the corner. Today we continue our preview of the one of the standout residences featured on the February 18 program. Reporter Mike Lipsitz invites you to join him for a sneak peek …
Each year, the Parade of Homes raises funds to provide services to local seniors and disabled residents. And for those who embark on this self-guided tour, it provides a glimpse into some of the most interesting, unusual, and outstanding private homes in the Hi-Desert. Today we visit the one Joshua Tree residence on this year’s tour. Owners Tom and Judy Malnar call it the Cramalot Inn. The couple purchased the home in 2014 and spent six months on renovations and restorations before taking occupancy. Using goods and materials salvaged from yard sales, thrift stores and treasures found roadside, the Cramalot Inn typifies the desert lifestyle that places a premium on recycling and re-purposing all kinds of material. The result is their castle and one fit for King Author.
Tickets for the homes tour are $25 and include all six homes plus live entertainment and lunch at the Park Rock Cafe in Joshua Tree.
Parade of Homes tickets are now on sale at Reach Out Morongo Basin, the Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms chambers of commerce, The Desert Trail, Z107.7 studios in Joshua Tree and at other locations throughout our Morongo Basin.
