Sunny skies smiled down on Reach Out Morongo Basin’s 13th annual Parade of Homes Sunday. Edica Gonzalez says the fundraiser was a great success…
Nearly 170 tickets were sold for Reach Out Morongo Basin’s 13th annual Parade of Homes, which featured two homes in Twentynine Palms, two homes in Joshua Tree, and two in Yucca Mesa. Executive Director Robin Schlosser said the non-profit’s largest fundraiser brought in nearly $5000 in cash and $2500 in in-kind sponsorships. Visitors from as far away as Alberta, Canada, and nine other states, as well as southern California signed in at the six homes on the tour. Some homes even ran out of tickets to sell tour-goers. Lunch at the Park Rock Café was included in the tour, with music provided by the Luminators. All proceeds from the tour fund Reach Out programs, such as transportation to doctors’ appointments and shopping, pickup and delivery of prescriptions, minor home repair and yard work assistance for seniors and the disable.
