131 TICKETS WRITTEN IN LOCAL TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT CRACKDOWN

Morongo Basin Sheriff’s deputies conducted proactive traffic enforcement Fridays and Saturdays in Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms during December. Over the eight-day period, deputies made 226 stops, resulting in 131 traffic citations, which included moving and equipment violations. Three vehicles were towed for expired registration and unlicensed drivers; 33 arrests were made for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving without a license or on a suspended license; possession of controlled substances or narcotics; possession of false vehicle registration tabs; failure to yield; drunk in public; resisting arrest; providing false information to a peace officer; and on arrest warrants.
