1,200 POUNDS OF UNWANTED PRESCRIPTION DRUGS TURNED IN

During the 10th Nationwide Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station received 26 pounds of unwanted prescription drugs. More than 1,200 pounds of expired and unwanted prescription drugs were turned into 10 County Sheriff’s Department stations on Saturday, September 26. The most drugs–481 pounds–were delivered to the Yucaipa station. Barstow received the fewest, at 10 pounds. Residents are urged to turn in their unused drugs as flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash pose potential safety and health hazards.
