A Twentynine Palms High School student was arrested following fights at the high school Monday afternoon. The Sheriff’s Department says that Quantay Fowler, 18, and another student, who was not named due to his age, were walking to class when their paths crossed. Fowler believed the other student intentionally stood in front of him to block his path, and an argument began. The other student punched Fowler in the face, and Fowler responded by punching the other student, causing him to fall to the floor. The other student suffered a broken jaw. A few minutes, a second fight broke out and the deputy said Fowler ran toward it and punched another student. Quantay Fowler was arrested for investigation of assault causing serious bodily injury, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000. The other students were disciplined by the school. The student with the broken jaw was taken by his parents to the Naval Hospital on board the Combat Center.
