YUCCA VALLEY WOMEN ACCUSED OF BURGLARIZING CARS OF NATIONAL PARK VISITORS

Two Yucca Valley women were arrested Tuesday, after a Joshua Tree National Park ranger suspected they had been burglarizing cars in the Indian Cove campground area of the park. About 6 p.m. a park ranger contacted deputies to say that two women—Ashley Gonzalez, 35, and Michelle Towne, 27—were in custody of the park service and that their vehicle was filled with stolen property. Ashley Gonzalez was arrested for investigation of being in possession of stolen property, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $25,000. Michelle Town was cited and released for misdemeanor possession of methamphetamine. The victim was contacted, and the stolen property was returned.
