YUCCA VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF FIGHTING WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WHILE WIELDING KNIFE

A Yucca Valley man was arrested Friday afternoon, accused of fighting three high school students. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the Yucca Valley High School about 2:45 p.m. Three students, who were not identified due to their age, had gotten into a fight with Heriberto Pena, 46. The victims and witnesses told deputies that Pena had a knife in his hand while he was punching one of the students. Two Yucca Valley High School staff members stepped between the attackers and YVHS students and shielded them from harm. None of the students was injured during the fight. Heriberto Pena was located at his home in the 56600 block of Joshua Drive where he was arrested for investigation of assault with a deadly weapon, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and released on $50,000 bail.
