A vehicle fire on the Morongo Grade Monday evening closed the eastbound lanes. Witnesses said a pick-up truck pulling a fifth wheel motor home going up the grade caught fire about 5:00 p.m. The truck was fully involved in flames by the time firefighters arrived. Fire and emergency vehicles blocked both eastbound lanes for a short time; one lane was re-opened about a half hour later. Traffic was backed up for well over a mile; there were no reports of injuries.
