TWO ARRESTED, ONE SOUGHT AFTER MAN IS BEATEN AND ROBBED IN YUCCA VALLEY

Two people were arrested early Saturday morning, and Sheriff’s deputies are searching for another man accused of a robbery and a high-speed chase in Yucca Valley. About 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning, deputies were called to a motel near Highway 62 and Camino del Cielo about two men running through the parking lot carrying a bag. When deputies arrived, they were met by a 47-year-old man from Joshua Tree who had his hands bound and a head injury. The man told deputies he had been robbed and beaten. During an area check, deputies found a suspicious vehicle, which fled at a high rate of speed. The vehicle crashed into a fence at Airlane Drive and Katje Way. Deputies arrested Lucas Mountz, 33, of Cherry Valley, and Erica Hull, 37, of Thousand Palms, who were trying to flee from the vehicle on foot. A third suspect, identified as Christopher Garcia, 41, of Cherry Valley, escaped on foot and has not yet been located. Deputies located the victim’s stolen property inside the vehicle along with evidence related to the robbery. Lucas Mountz was arrested for investigation of robbery, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $200,000. Erica Hull was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $25,000.
