A Twentynine Palms man was arrested New Year’s Eve, accused of kicking and punching people at a party. According to a Sheriff’s report, Bishop Lawler, 25, went to a New Year’s Eve party in the 58300 block of Sunnyslope Drive in Yucca Valley. Guests at the party said Lawler was already drunk when he arrived, and when he became unruly, the homeowners asked him to leave. The report states that Lawler kicked a woman in the stomach, and then attacked another man, knocking him to the ground and punching him in the face until the victim blacked out. The victim suffered multiple injuries to his face. Guests at the party subdued Lawler until deputies arrived. Bishop Lawler was arrested for investigation of felony assault causing serious injuries, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
