Sheriff’s deputies arrested several juveniles Friday night for impersonating law enforcement officers. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies received multiple calls about 9:15 p.m. Friday from residents in the Indian Cove area of Twentynine Palms about subjects who were walking in the street with a bullhorn and police siren. The callers said they believed the subjects to be teenagers—two boys and a girl—who were using the bullhorn to tell residents to evacuate their homes, to come out of their house or their car with their hands up, and that this was not a drill. The teens were also activating the siren. Deputies located the teens—who were not identified due to their age—and arrested them for investigation of impersonating an officer, and released them to their guardians.
