An Anaheim man was arrested Saturday, September 5, accused of harassing and stalking his estranged wife in Morongo Valley. About 2:30 a.m. Saturday, the woman called deputies to her home in the 49800 block of Park Avenue in Morongo Valley. She said Jesse Raffenberger, 41, had been calling and texting her since 5:30 Friday morning. During one of the conversations, she said Raffenberger told her she had better not call law enforcement or he would do something that would send him to prison for the rest of his life. She told deputies she was in fear for her life. Deputies located Raffenberger as he drove away. Raffenberger told Deputies that he arrived at her home about 2:30 a.m. to talk to her. Jesse Raffenberger was arrested on suspicion of stalking and harassment and was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $150,000.
A Cathedral City man was arrested Thursday, accused of stalking and harassing a Morongo Basin resident. According to a Sheriff’s press release, Joseph Nila, 35, was arrested April 9 and subsequently convicted of stalking and vandalism. He was placed on probation. In July, detectives learned that Nila was re-contacting the victim. Morongo Basin detectives, with assistance of the Probation Department, searched Nila’s home in Cathedral City. Joseph Nila was arrested again on suspicion of identity theft and stalking, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $150,000. We have limited information about a Yucca Valley man who was arrested Thursday, accused of stalking. Deputies were called to Walmart in Yucca Valley about 1:30 p.m. where they contacted Steven Sigala, 28. After an investigation, Steven Sigala was arrested on suspicion of stalking and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $300,000.
A Joshua Tree woman who violated a restraining order was arrested Friday, accused of stalking. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the 63600 block of Saturn Street in Joshua Tree about 10 p.m. Friday for a woman, later identified as Frances Marsh, 53, who was at a home where the resident had served a restraining order against her. Marsh had taken a taxi to the location and had left and returned several times over the course of five hours. The resident told deputies that Marsh had threatened him, saying he was going to “get it” and was going to die. Frances Marsh was arrested for investigation of stalking, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $150,000.
Two Yucca Valley men were arrested in the early morning hours Saturday, accused of stalking and threatening a witness. About 1 a.m., deputies were called to the 56200 block of 29 Palms Highway for an argument. Deputies were called back about 45 minutes later, when the men, identified as Julian Evaro, 24, and Jazz Evaro, 19, returned and threw a water bottle at the door. The men left in a white Honda Civic toward Papago Trail. Deputies located the suspects, and a short pursuit ensued. Julian Evaro and Jazz Evaro were both arrested for investigation of stalking and intimidating a witness; in addition, Julian Evaro was also arrested on suspicion of felony evading. They were booked into the West Valley Detention Center with their bail set at $150,000 each. Jazz Evaro was released on bail Monday morning.
