STOLEN TRUCK BROUGHT TO WAL-MART FOR AN OIL CHANGE

A Fontana man who brought a truck to Walmart in Yucca Valley for an oil change was arrested Wednesday, when deputies determined the truck had been stolen. Walmart employees called Sheriff’s deputies about noon because the driver of the truck, later identified as Marlon Nunez, 36, had left multiple open containers of alcohol inside the truck, and they were concerned that he was driving while intoxicated. When deputies arrived, they determined that the truck had been reported stolen. After an investigation, Marlon Nunez was arrested for possession of stolen property and on a warrant for driving on a suspended license, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $55,000.
