A pedestrian was killed early Tuesday morning when he was hit by a car on Highway 62 in Twentynine Palms. About 5:35 a.m., the unidentified man was walking northbound across the highway, outside of a crosswalk, near Encelia Avenue. A 35-year-old woman from Washington, D.C. was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Impala westbound on the highway when her car struck the 62-year-old victim, killing him. The coroner has not yet released the man’s identity.
