MORONGO VALLEY MAN ACCUSED OF INTENTIONALLY RAMMING A TRUCK

A Morongo Valley man was arrested late Thursday night, accused of intentionally ramming his car into a vehicle his ex-girlfriend was in, along with another man. According to a Sheriff’s report, James Santana, 35, had had on-going problems with his 36-year-old ex-girlfriend. Shortly before midnight Thursday, Santana found the woman in a 2008 Ford F250 pickup truck driven by a 41-year-old man from Desert Hot Springs on Highway 62 near North Star Road in Morongo Valley. Santana deliberately drove his 1998 Toyota RAV4 into the side of the Ford, ramming it, and then proceeded to pull the man out of the Ford and attacked him. Bystanders attempted to pull the two men apart, but backed off when Santana allegedly threatened them with a rock. After an investigation, James Santana was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon likely to produce great bodily injury, and committing another crime while out on bail. James Santana was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $100,000.
