The Sheriff’s Department is investigating an assault over the weekend at the Joshua Tree Music Fest. According to a Sheriff’s report, a mother brought her 12-year-old son to Hi-Desert Medical Center about 8 p.m. Saturday night. The mother said her son was strangled and body slammed by a man, identified as being a white man, 40 to 50 years old, after the boy removed the man’s hat from his head. The boy suffered a broken nose and minor cuts after being slammed to the ground. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
