JOSHUA TREE MAN ACCUSED OF STRONG ARM ROBBERY

A Joshua Tree man was arrested Tuesday evening, accused of strong arm robbery. According to a Sheriff’s report, just after 8 p.m., Randall Piearcy, 30, went to Mike’s Liquor on the highway in downtown Joshua Tree and bought a pack of cigarettes. As Piearcy was leaving the store, the owner noticed that Piearcy had two cans of beer in his front pockets that he had not paid for. The owner confronted Piearcy, who threatened her with a raised fist as though he was going to punch her in the face. The owner backed off, and when she started calling the Sheriff’s department to report the robbery, Piearcy allegedly walked toward hier again with a clenched fist, before fleeing in a vehicle. A witness saw where Piearcy went, and directed deputies to an address in the 61600 block of Capilla Avenue in Joshua Tree. The deputy found Piearcy there, and determined that he was on parole for assault with a deadly weapon. Randall Piearcy was arrested for investigation of strong arm robbery, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000, but is being held without bail for violating his parole.
