JOSHUA BASIN WATER TAKES UP NEXTERA SOLAR WILL-SERVE LETTER AGAIN

The Joshua Basin Water District Board will revisit the issues surrounding the issuance of a “will-serve” letter for a controversial commercial solar project in the Sunfair area. Reporter Mike Lipsitz outlines the issues…
At tonight’s meeting of the Joshua Basin Water District the board will receive an update on the Nextera Solar Project at the old Joshua Tree airport site and consider approval of a will-serve letter and water supply agreement. District staff recommends that the board give the go ahead to the agreement. Even with a signed letter and water supply agreement, nothing can happen at the site until or unless the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors gives the greenlight when they hear an appeal. That item and others will follow public comments. Committee, staff and director’s reports come later. Tonight’s meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. and takes place at the district office on Chollita Road in Joshua Tree.
