COUNTY SUPERVISORS TO GREENLIGHT 2 LOCAL PROJECTS TOMORROW

At tomorrow’s regular 10 a.m. meeting of county supervisors in San Bernardino, board approval of two local projects is expected to see both break ground in June. Here’s reporter Mike Lipsitz with details…

With approval of the last in a series of agreements, work crews are expected to begin widening Sunburst Avenue in Joshua Tree from the highway to the new Joshua Tree Elementary School as part of a plan to refurbish and extend a bike lane along the route. And with board approval of a contractor, construction can begin on a permanent $2.3 million gas collection and treatment facility at the Landers Landfill. Work on both the bike lane and the landfill is expected to begin in June and be completed this fall.
