CITY OF TWENTYNINE PALMS HOSTS OPEN HOUSE FOR NEW PARK DESIGN SATURDAY

After months of collecting resident input on a new park, the City of Twentynine Palms will host an Open House for the public to view the design for the new still-unnamed recreation space. Reporter Heather Clisby has more details …

With visions of a much-needed new park, the City of Twentynine Palms has been trying to secure grant funds from the Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program to make it happen. (The grant funds are the result of the 2018 Prop. 68 California Parks and Water Bond.)

Along the way, the City has held outreach meetings for design input from City residents. On Saturday, the final community outreach will be an Open House for City staff to share the resulting design and consider name suggestions for the new park .

The event will take place Saturday, October 3, from 10 am until 2 pm at Theatre 29, both inside and outside, at 73637 Sullivan Road. A taco lunch will be served at noon for the first 100 guests.

This free event is for the public and the City asks that attendees wear a mask and practice social distancing. For more info, call the Twentynine Palms Parks and Recreation Department at 760-367-7562.
