CHANGE OF COMMAND AT THE 29 PALMS COMBAT CENTER FRIDAY

Major General William Jurney has been the commander of the Combat Center and training command since September 2020. He will move on to become the commanding general of Second Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp LeJeune in North Carolina. Taking the command in Twentynine Palms will be Major General Austin Renforth. Renforth’s previous assignment was chief of staff general for the North American Aerospace Defense Command and the U.S. Northern Command in Colorado Springs. The change of command ceremony is set for 8 a.m. Friday at the Lance Cpl. Torrey L. Gray Field at the Combat Center headquarters. The ceremony is invitation only to comply with COVID-19 mitigation policy.
