CHAMBERLIN TAKES OVER NEW COUNTY FIRE DIVISION; MARSHALL NAMED SOUTH DESERT DIVISION CHIEF

San Bernardino County Fire Department officials announced Thursday the creation of a new county fire division, and have named a local division chief to lead it. The new East Valley Division will be formed to accommodate the expected transition of the San Bernardino City fire department into the county fire protection district. Division Chief John Chamberlin, currently assigned to lead the South Desert Division, which covers the Morongo Basin, will be reassigned, effective immediately, to become the first division chief of the East Valley Division. County Fire Chief Mark Hartwig told Z107.7 News Battalion Chief Tom Marshall will be promoted to Division Chief in Division 5 and will take responsibility for the area that includes our Morongo Basin.
