A woman escaped injury yesterday when her older model Mercedes caught fire in Morongo Valley. About 10:30 Monday morning, Morongo Valley fire fighters and Cal Fire found the Mercedes fully involved in flames in the intersection of Hess Boulevard and Pioneer Drive, near the Morongo Valley Elementary School. The car’s driver had gotten out of her car safely and fire fighters put the fire out quickly. There were no injuries.
