ADDITIONAL VICTIMS SOUGHT IN JOHN LINN MOLESTATION INVESTIGATION

John Linn

A Pioneertown musician, guitar maker and western re-enactor who played at Stagecoach in 2010 was arrested Tuesday afternoon and faces three felony charges related to child molestation. On January 6, Yucca Valley High School Resource Officer Michael Sellers learned of a possible sexual relationship between John Linn, 55, and a 14-year-old girl. During the investigation, deputies learned the relationship had gone on for more than a year. John Linn was arrested on suspicion of rape, lewd acts with a child under 14, and false imprisonment, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $250,000. Linn was an assistant coach for the 2019 Yucca Valley High School football team. He was also heavily involved in community events including the Pioneertown Wild West Theater, and a variety of country-western dance groups. Detectives are concerned there may be other victims. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.

The Morongo Unified School District announced that John Linn has been relieved of all duties related to the school district. Linn served as an assistant during the 2019 football season. His primary function was as a videographer along with other minor coaching duties.
