A Twentynine Palms man who wanted Sheriff’s deputies to talk to his four-year-old daughter about jail was arrested Sunday afternoon for child endangerment. According to a Sheriff’s report, Michael Harper, 33, called 911 about 4:45 p.m. Sunday and asked dispatchers to tell his daughter about jail, before handing the phone over to his daughter. Dispatchers noted that Harper sounded extremely intoxicated. When deputies arrived in the 6600 block of Cholla Avenue, Harper denied calling 911; the only other occupant in the home was a young girl. Deputies determined that Harper was intoxicated and almost fell on the girl several times. Michael Harper was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, cited and released.
