YVHS seeks $5 million for stadium improvements at MUSD meeting tonight (3/10)

For the meeting’s agenda, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education Dr. Gracie Gutierrez will recognize the organizers of last month’s Literacy is Life event which celebrated reading and writing for literacy awareness. There will be new board policy reflecting the Arts and Music in Schools Funding Guarantee and Accountability Act and corresponding California Department of Education accounting guidance regarding how state funds are used to supplement (not replace) existing program funds. Additionally, the policy also states the district may not release student records or other personal information without parental consent or as required by law or district policy.
There will be a policy update that will offer opportunity for members of the public to address the board prior to closed session on any closed session agenda item in accordance with Agenda/Meeting Materials and Meeting Conduct Bylaws. Yucca Valley High School seeks authorization for stadium improvements with the estimate of $5 million funded through the Measure C Series A Bond. including 500-seat visitor bleacher section, a 1600-seat home bleacher section with new press box and installation of new stadium lighting. Finally, since we are out of its significant public health emergency, the policy regarding COVID-19 mitigation will be deleted.
The meeting starts at 4:30 and takes place at Joshua Tree Elementary at 4950 Sunburst Avenue.
