Yucca Valley Town-wide Beautification Program status

At the November 1 Town Council meeting, the town staff reviewed the progress of the Town-wide Beautification Program, including the shopping cart ordinance, monument, and street signs, median maintenance, building improvement program, commercial corridor design alternatives, abetment alternatives, and exploring new measures for low-income housing.

The staff reviewed the Town Beautification Program at the November 1 Town Council Meeting. The Town Manager, Curtis Yakimow, said the first important ordinance is the shopping carts. If the stores aren’t responsible for picking them up, the Town will and will bill the stores for the cost and effort.

The staff is pleased with the work of Cart Retrieval, Inc. The Town Council also asked for an update on housing, and Yakimow said staff would likely return with an update in January.

Finally, Mariposa Landscaping is contracted for median islands along Hwy 62 and to assist with landscaping maintenance for the Library, California Welcome Center, Animal Shelter, Park and Ride and Remembrance Park.
