Yucca Valley Town Council to review code changes, receive department reports

After holding a by-week after Labor Day, the Yucca Valley Town Council will resume its regular meeting schedule.

The Yucca Valley Town Council meeting will begin with a Public Hearing concerning solar energy systems. At their meeting on August 27, the Planning Commission recommended the adoption of a new ordinance that would amend the Town’s code to comply with recent state changes. Following the Public Hearing, Town Staff will present a second ordinance related to the matter for Council review.

The Town Council will then receive the Planning Annual Report and Discussion. This report covers the fiscal year 2023 through 2024 and concerns information regarding Town Services, including staffing levels, office hours, and policy or commercial projects currently under consideration or review. Lastly, Town Staff will provide the Council with an update on the San Bernardino Council of Governments. This organization is composed of the County Board of Supervisors and 24 representatives from municipalities  throughout the county, who work together on regional issues. The Council of Governments received an increase in grant funding; they have put together a proposed work plan for fall, which will be presented by Town Staff.

Tonight’s meeting is open to the public and begins at 6 p.m. at the Yucca Valley Community Center.
