YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL HEARS PUBLIC INPUT FOR PICKLEBALLS, MURALS

In a lengthy meeting, the Town Council approved plans to resurface a tennis court at Jacobs Park into a pickleball court, remove the mural regulations from the sign ordinance, and approve an investment contract with Chandler Asset Management Company.

The Community Center was packed at last night’s meeting as the Town Council received input from the community regarding the Jacobs Park Tennis Court Resurfacing and Court Conversion of one tennis court to four pickleball courts for two years. The council members received many public comments and letters. Finally, they approved the temporary recommendation to convert the Tennis court with the stipulation to research two pickleball courts over four and proceed with safety in mind.

Additionally, the Council recommended that staff begin exploring the potential for other Pickleball courts after two years. Also, last night, The council approved removing mural regulations from the sign ordinance and allowing mural regulations to stand alone. In addition, the Council approved the agreement for Investment Management Services with Chandler Asset Management and received and filed the Building & Safety annual presentation.
