Yucca Valley Town Council awards construction contracts for Onaga Trail at meeting

After the Town Council’s closed meeting, the members heard the County Sheriff’s Department update report and the presentation of the Spirit of Yucca Valley Awards to Wiefels Mortuary.

Last night, Sheriff Shannon Dicus presented an update from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department on Operation Hammer Strike, eliminating illegal marijuana farms, and Operation Dust Devil, partnering with Code enforcement to regulate off-road vehicles and to educate the community.

The Council also reviewed and approved updating the town’s building code to adjust for changes at the State level. A Public Hearing is set for November 15.

Finally, in two separate votes, the Council reviewed and approved a construction contract to Granite Construction Company for the Onaga Trail pedestrian Improvements project and awarded a contract to Mariposa Landscape Inc for maintenance services.
