The Yucca Valley Town Council will consider codes that prevented a collection from being approved last fall.
The Yucca Valley Town Council meeting will begin with presentations on two town improvement projects. Last fall, the Town Council approved the plans and construction contract for updates to Machris Park; the project entailed demolishing and repouring the basketball court concrete and replacing the playground equipment. Construction was finished at the end of March; the project awaits Council approval before it can be designated as complete. Town Staff will then provide the quarterly project status update on the Aquatic Recreation Center.
The Town Council will also consider a section of the Development Code as it pertains to recycling facilities. In September, the Planning Commission reviewed a Special Use Permit for a collection facility proposed between Jack in the Box and the former Pizza Hut location along Twentynine Palms Highway. The Commission denied the application due to existing zoning overlay restrictions and recommended that the Council review the code in depth.
Lastly, the Council will consider a funding agreement with the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority to widen Yucca Trail between La Contenta Road and Palomar Ave.
Tomorrow night’s meeting is open to the public and begins at 5 p.m. at the Yucca Valley Community Center.
