Summer is here, and the Town of Yucca Valley aims to beat the heat with new additions to the aquatics program. The annual program consists of a three-hour Fun Swim held daily Monday through Saturday, as well as morning lap swim session, water aerobics, and class and private swim lessons across six levels. The Junior Lifeguarding Program is back for another year; the four-week course is for 11 to 14-year-olds who will learn the skills necessary to prepare for the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course.
New this year, the program will offer an evening lap swim session, a swim lesson session on Saturdays, and the Wibit Aquatic Obstacle Course. There will also be two Swim-In-Movies, held on the first two Fridays in August.
Fun Swim at the pool costs $3 when purchased online, or $5 in person. This year, visitors also have the option to purchase a season pass to the swimming pool, at a rate $50 for individuals and $175 for families of four.
The Aquatics Program is held at the Yucca Valley High School, located at 7600 Sage Ave., with the entrance on Onaga Trail. The program runs from today through August 10. Online program registration is now open and can be accessed at yucca-valley.org. For more information, contact the Town of Yucca Valley at (760) 369-7211.
