Yucca Valley Planning Commission to review final draft of food vending ordinance

The Yucca Valley Planning Commission will kick off its meeting with a public hearing on an amendment to the Development Code. The Planning Commission previously adopted a resolution requiring a landscape plan and irrigation review as part of the Land Use Compliance Review. Amendments to the Development Code require a public hearing before becoming regulation.

The Planning Commission will also host another round of discussions regarding mobile food vending. The Town has shown interest in creating regulations that would allow mobile food vendors to operate on private and designated public property. Tonight will be the fourth time the topic has been considered between the Town Council and Planning Commission; it is part of a series of ongoing conversations regarding the beautification of Highway 62. The Planning Commission will review the final drafted ordinance by Town Staff on the matter, pending a public hearing.

The Planning Commission will also receive the Land Development Update.

Tonight’s meeting is open to the public and begins at 6 p.m. at the Yucca Valley Community Center.
