YUCCA VALLEY PLANNING COMMISSION TAKES UP A SETBACK AND A REVIEW

2

At last night’s brief planning commission meeting, commissioners considered a request to reduce the front setback at Navajo Trail and reviewing a private Land Development Update Report.

The first item of business at last night’s Planning Commission meeting was a review of a front setback on a single-family residence. After reviewing the submitted materials from Mr. Charles Gabriels, the staff requested a revised site plan and slope analysis report. Because of the presence of a Joshua tree on the property, the need to assess the effect the setback will have on the native plants and species, and the lack of verifiable site plans, a CEQA review is required.

The Council then heard and reviewed the Land Development Report, which included several projects affected by the presence of the western Joshua tree. The Commissioners passed a motion to file and receive the report. With nothing else on the agenda, the meeting ended early.
