Yucca Valley Planning Commission reviews Land Development Report

At Last night’s meeting, Town Staff reviewed the commercial Land Development Update.

Starbucks West is working on the traffic impact report, and plans for Nice Dreams, a non-dairy ice cream shop, is progressing.

The Project Team for the Modern Hotel planned for the east side of Highway 247 and south of Buena Vista is working closely with staff to work out environmental issues. There are plans for a multifamily unit in Old Town, and three Short Term Vacation Rental requests are going through the Planning processes.

Additionally, Chipotle is working on grading, and Town is reviewing the mounted Roof signage regulations.

Lastly, Recent news from Auto Camp is they are upgrading individual hotel rooms but has changed its architectural firm and management team which is slowing overall plans. Quick Quack is moving forward, and the Yucca Valley Airport field is getting repaved for the first time since 1986 with the Measure Y Grant.

Finally, announced late today is the passage of the Western Joshua Tree Protection Bill that should be sent to the Governor to be signed today or tomorrow.

Small adjustments have been made to mitigation fees. Staff will report back with more information.
