Woman killed in YV motorcycle collision identified

The woman killed in a fatal motorcycle collision in Yucca Valley has been identified.

On Thursday (February 8) 12:45, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report that a motorcycle had collided into a light pole on Twentynine Palms Highway near Kickapoo Trail. 

They report that Melanie Fontes, a 49 year old resident of Gardena, lost control of her motorcycle, colliding into a light pole in the 55400 block of Twentynine Palms Highway. 

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles were involved in the collision, and the San Bernardino County Coroner is continuing their investigation into the incident.
