Wednesday Water Roundup: HDWD and JBWD

Directors at Yucca Valley’s Hi-Desert Water District are expected to dispatch an ambitious agenda at today’s (September 4, 2024) regular 4 o’clock meeting. While Joshua Tree’s Joshua Basin Water District is looking at an uncharacteristically light agenda at today’s 5:30 p.m. meeting.

Pending approval from legal counsel, directors at the Hi-Desert Water District are expected to sign a loan/grant agreement with the State Water Resources Control Board for the combined Phase II and III Sewer Collection System. As it stands, the agreement makes available just over $100,000,000 for the final phases of the sewer project; if well managed, the district would be required to repay a small fraction, in any, of the funds.

Today’s meeting takes place at the district office on the highway at Inca Trail.

And looking East toward Joshua Tree, the Joshua Basin Water District board has no action items outside of routine matters on the consent agenda. That meeting takes place at the District Office on Chollita Road in Joshua Tree.
