Website Upgrades are Coming

Hello Morongo Basin and listeners around the world right here on z1077fm.com! My name is Robert Haydon and you may have heard me on the radio from time to time – I’m also working with the entire team here to bring more local news, events and community content to the website so you can rely on Z107.7 even if you are outside our wide hi-desert broadcast range.

How are we doing that? You’ve probably already seen some of the changes online, and maybe you’ve even witnessed times when the site mysteriously hasn’t been working like it should. We appreciate you rolling with these changes and growing pains – our web traffic has been growing right alongside the growth and changes that are happening in the Morongo Basin.

What’s next?

We will be launching a revised version on the website in the coming weeks – but first and foremost the news and the stories you come to Z107.7 everyday for will be in the same spot and just as easy to find and read. The same goes with our streaming – if your morning routine involves scrolling through Z107.7 for the local news – that won’t be interrupted. Our goal is to enhance your experience and give you easier access to the news, events and the coverage you’ve come to expect.

Coming with the refreshed site:

More local (and hyperlocal) news – We like to throw around the term “hyperlocal” around here – we pride ourselves on covering the local news that larger news organizations can’t – so if you are looking for news in addition to Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms, we will also have dedicated news sections for Wonder Valley, Morongo Valley, Landers, and other areas that we serve.

Get to know your reporters – Chances are you have met someone who works here at the station – we have a small but dedicated team of reporters who live, work and play here in the hi desert. We’ve already introduced bylines back onto the website – and soon you’ll be able to put a face to the voice as we’ll have dedicated sections for all of our reporters and their stories.

Longer stories and more ways to listen – We say it everyday: “We deliver the news to you 7 times a day, 7 days a week – at 7, 8, 9, Noon, 4, 5 and 6.”

But we also want you to be able to listen to individual stories as well, along with our award winning daily newscast. On the new site, each story you hear on the radio will also be available in audio form in the site – along with longer versions of stories that couldn’t fit on the radio.

Events, Community meetings, local sports, and Arts & Entertainment Sections – We love sharing the events that are happening around the Morongo Basin – but we don’t want that to become “old news” by dropping off the website and your radar. We will have even easier ways to keep track of our Arts & Entertainment stories, community meeting calendars, as well as all the events we love to share on weekdays and weekends.

Podcasts and Shows – New pages for The Morning Show with Cody and Jef, along with our growing list of podcasts produced right here in the hi desert – all of this will be richer in content and easier to listen to, so you can take Z107.7 with us and share the Morongo Basin magic with those who aren’t lucky enough to call the Morongo Basin their home.

We have so much more to share with you – and as we launch the refreshed site we will be sure to keep you updated well before any changes take place to your experience here on the website.

We are a small but dedicated team – and we want to listen to your feedback, too. As the website gets refreshed and upgraded, you can reach out directly to [email protected] – we won’t be able to answer or incorporate every suggestion, but we value what the community has to say about how they get their local news.

We are excited to refresh and enhance your news experience – thanks for listening to Z107.7 FM!
